Today we spent the morning in Guatape and then back to Medellin. We walked around Plazoleta de Los Zócalos which is proclaimed to have the most colorful buildings in Colombia. We agreed everything in this area was bright and cheery.
Around 10 am We boarded a bus back to Medellin with a plan to visit the Botanical Gardens.
Its very common for people to get on the bus along the way trying to sell items. This girl provided some singing entertainment.
After arriving in Medellin the plan was to go to Jardín Botánico de Medellín (Botanical gardens). To get there from the bus station is very easy. Get on metro line A line going south towards La Estrella. Get off at the next stop, Universidad. The Gardens are across the street.
We were a little queasy from the winding bus trip through the mountains so we thought some Grilled chicken and fresh fruit juice from Del Bosque Restaurant- Cafe might help. After a quick walk through the gardens we went home for a bit.
You probably don’t think of Colombia and pizza in the same sentence but we decided we would find some. We walked to a place called Pizzas Garage. This place is literally an old single car garage with a pizza oven and a few tables sitting in what looked like was once a driveway. But don’t be discouraged by that because this 2 person operation had some of the best pizza we have ever had. And there was something quaint about sitting outside in a driveway on a quite side street in Medellin eating pizza and drinking a beer.
